When he was younger he held her like a balloon
By a string he tugged her along
And they danced under the moon
He caught the light
Loved the glow on his shoulder
With his balloon he climbed closer
Set aloft
First in line to a fault
He should have held on to you while he was jumping on the moon
A light touch when he landed and over time the wind pulled at you
While he was jumping on the moon
By and by he found his way higher
Rode a cloud
Sailed a wave
Led a storm
He lured her out of her waters
As the string frayed it got longer
Like a reel he twisted and toyed
Turned a blind eye to the flaw
Of course his balloon was true
Why would she let go when he took her above the world
One taste of space and it's all he wants to do
Fly away
Look down and count everything too mundane
He should have held on to you while he was jumping on the moon
A light touch when he landed and over time the wind pulled at you
While he was jumping on the moon
