I saw those kind old faces
When they were young and impatient
When do they grow complacent
Stop chasing broadcast images
They found their happy places
While I beat the pavement
I move like the moon on a starless night
Inching like I'll swim but I gotta stay dry
Listening to non-believers
Trying to wake but afraid of deceivers
All the wise ones hiding some lies
I'm too hush to say I might be right
It's not a race but a risk point
A drive with a dark dark shape on the side
And I think we could love that way
Every day we sit and wait
Things fall into place
Do we uncover what we dreamed when we were younger
If I wait for thunder
Will I miss the rain falling
Lost art and beautiful people
The stories they made and the reasons they faded
Found out the hard way that I always choose a dreamer
Holding on or holding out
Move on and don't turn back
How little we change afraid of what they'll say at a send off
Was that all you could take
Maybe next time
Another day lost
Did I have a shot
Or start a little too late
Or do we love that way
